Define one recognizable business

Before optimizing pages, establish the facts that every page and profile must agree on. A machine or a customer should be able to distinguish your business from another company with a similar name.

The most important thing: Keep your business name, services, locations and contact details consistent wherever customers find you.

Related play: Publish a business context page — a factual reference with service fit, comparisons and a practical 2027 v1 implementation.

1Write the business fact sheet

Record the public trading name, legal name if different, canonical website, main phone, public contact details, locations or service area, primary category, three core services, target customers and the people responsible. Give each fact an owner and last-verified date. Use the same meaning across profiles; harmless address abbreviations do not need ritual correction.

What done looks like

One approved fact sheet with evidence links and a named owner.

2Write a concrete identity sentence

Use: “[Business] provides [specific service] for [customer type] in [real market].” Follow it with your actual method or constraint. A visitor must understand what you sell without interpreting “innovative solutions” or “world-class excellence.” Put the description on the homepage and expand it on About.

What done looks like

A stranger can explain the business after reading the first screen.

3Connect people, places and offers

Give important services stable URLs. Add real team biographies, credentials with issuing bodies, a contact page, and location pages where relevant. Link these from the places where readers need evidence. For groups, distinguish parent brand, operating business and individual branches.

What done looks like

Service pages link to relevant expertise, locations and proof.

4Reconcile conflicting records

Search the exact business name, former names, phone and address. Log incorrect hours, old domains, duplicate profiles and mixed identities. Correct owned records first; request corrections from meaningful external sources. Record unresolved discrepancies rather than inventing certainty.

What done looks like

The most visible owned and external records no longer contradict critical facts.

A concrete example

Weak: “We are a leading solutions company.” Specific: “Northline Heating helps Austin homeowners diagnose, repair and replace residential heat pumps. Our service pages explain appointment availability, diagnostic fees and the systems we support.” Fictional illustration: publish only facts that are true for your business.

Avoid this mistake: Do not pay for promises of a special identifier that guarantees AI recommendations. First make your real business details accurate, public and easy to check.
